Patient Results

Many patients have received TB006 treatments as part of the FDA-approved expanded access program. These are some of their stories and outcomes.

Note: MMSE refers to the Mini Mental State Examination, a tool that can be used to systematically and thoroughly assess mental status. It is an 11-question measure that tests five areas of cognitive function: orientation, registration, attention and calculation, recall, and language. The maximum MMSE is 30. A score of 24 or higher is said to be normal.

Patient #1: A small business owner, diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia

Progress, after the first treatment of TB006: The following patient received treatment in the Brian Power Clinics in Florida

  1. His wife noticed he was more compassionate and was more emotionally available
  2. His daughter noticed he was faster in speaking and faster with his words
  3. He noticed his words came easier

Progress, after the second treatment:

  1. He was more organized. He made to-do lists and got more done
  2. After work, instead of watching TV he would be productive and get things done
  3. He continued to be more compassionate and emotionally available with his wife and family

After six treatments the patient chose to stop. Within two weeks, the patient contacted the clinic asking to start back up again.

Patient #2: A retired, 84-year-old man with significant memory loss.

Progress: The following patient received treatment in the Brian Power Clinics in Florida

  1. He was more organized. He made to-do lists and got more done

Patient #3: An 85-year-old woman, diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease

  1. Within 2 months she noticed she was getting better.
  2. “I am thinking better, and I am noticing my memory coming back.”

Patient #4: A 91-year-old white female, former CPA

Symptoms and medical history

  1. Memory loss
  2. Not much improvement on Exelon Patch 13.5mg daily. Namenda 10mg twice/day for nearly 10 years
  3. Isolated with minimal communication
  4. No involvement in regular daily tasks
  5. History of breast cancer, autoimmune disease, and hypothyroidism

Progress

  1. Post First Dose: MMSE score improved to 19 from 15Participating more in daily tasks. More engaged in conversation with her husband/friends/ Solves daily math problems.
  2. Post Second Dose: MMSE score improved to 23 from 19Patient was socializing more. Physically more active, engaged in cooking, household, and other activities. 
  3. Post Third Dose: MMSE score improved to 25 from 23Restarted wearing makeup again, dressing herself and coordinating clothing, calculating checks and tips at restaurants.

Patient #5: 94-year-old African American female, a retired teacher

Symptoms and medical history

  1. Untreated dementia by former PCP with severe decline of daily living activities 
  2. MMSE score of 13/30 on the first visit 
  3. History of: CAD, CHF, Hypertension, Gout

Progress

  1. Post First TB006 Treatment – First Two Weeks: More engaged and attentive . Humor returning. More consistently and easily recalling names and events. Daughter of patient stated her mother arrived home right after her first treatment and went straight to the family room picked up the TV remote control and changed the channel to watch her program. She had not been able to operate the remote for more than 6 months.  
  2. Second Two Weeks post treatment: Able to follow a challenging conversation. Could remember both sets of “three words” of MMSE. Physically more active.
  3. At 2nd Treatment, Post First Dose: MMSE score improved to 21 from 13. Active participant in-home discussions. She was less short of breath and could walk longer distances.
  4. Post Second Dose: 7 weeks into treatment, MMSE score improved to 22 from 21. In addition, the patient was more involved in family activities and had an improved sense of humor and alertness.

Patient #6: A 90-year-old white female

Symptoms and medical history

  1. History of senile Dementia  
  2. MMSE score 18/30
  3. Malignant hypertension with frequent average systolic BP 170 mmHg frequently spiking up to 210-240 mmHg 
  4. On multiple blood pressure medications
  5. CAD – Pulmonary embolism 
  6. On Eliquis
  7. Sleeps all day
  8. Nausea and frequent vomiting of unknown cause  
  9. Significant intolerance to cold 
  10. Chronic generalized body aches: back pain, knee pain 
  11. History of multiple falls 
  12. Urinary incontinence 
  13. Home bound for 2 years 

Progress

  1. Following TB006 Treatment – First Two Weeks: Marked improvement in memory.  Able to remember her birthday and day of week. Marked reduction in pain. BP dramatically improved (averaging 120-130). Mood improvement: calmer, less anxious, more alert/awake, and more energized.
  2. Second Two Weeks: Intolerance to cold resolved. Nausea and vomiting resolved. Requested that the caregiver pull her bright red suit from the closet so she could visit her son, and she did visit him. Increased participation with friends and family. No longer laying on the couch most of the day.
  3. Immediately Prior to Second Dose: MMSE score improved to 22 from 18: Memory continued to improve. Incontinence largely resolved. Continues to be more alert and interactive. Normal tolerance to cold.
  4. Four Weeks Post Second Dose: MMSE score improved to 25 from 22: Improved alertness. Participation with family activities. Blood pressure continues to maintain normal levels.
